The duo have always been drawn to traditional music, but felt it important that Pembrokeshire should have a musical heritage and songs reflecting its traditions and way of life.
arly in the new Millennium and following the success of their
'Tenby
Lifeboat Man' CD, the duo decided to concentrate more on their own original
material, much of it focusing on Pembrokeshire's history as well as contemporary
issues.
As a result of this change in direction the duo decided that a change of name
was called for, and the name '
' naturally suggested itself as being
inextricably linked with Pembrokeshire.
Song titles such as 'Empress of the Sea', 'The Landshipping Miner', and of course 'The Bluestone Hop', are just a selection from their increasing original repertoire which will be featured later this year on a new CD recorded at their own studio. Live, the duo still perform traditional and contemporary material together with their own songs and they include a unique banter involving the audience in some lighted hearted leg pulling, usually at the duo's expense!
